Mais depuis que je travaille (et encore plus depuis ma promotion!), le temps me manque pour venir mettre mon blog à jour :(
De plus, je ne suis plus aussi assidûe qu'avant pour prendre une photo par jour. Faut dire que parfois, je ne fais rien en dehors du travail, dans une journée donnée, donc je n'ai pas de photo...

J'ai donc décidé, pour ne pas me mettre trop de pression, de ne pas m'imposer une photo par jour, mais plutôt 365 photos par année: donc, pas nécessairement une par jour, mais 7 par semaine... ca fait du sens? Ainsi, les jours où j'ai plein de trucs viendront compenser pour les journées ''mortes''...

So... i'll be back. Je viendrai compléter le reste de 2011 qui manque ici, et je commencerai 2012 à la fin du mois de janvier!

But ever since I'Ve started working, and especially since I've had a promotion, it's hard to keep my blog updated!!
Also, it's been hard to keep taking a picture a day. There are some days that don't involve anything other than work, so I have no picture whatsoever.

So I decided not to pressure myself to take a picture every single day. I will continue doing 365 pics a year, but not necessarily one a day. More like 7 pics a week, so that the days I have tons of stuff going on will compensate for the ones I have nothing. lol.

So, I'll be back. I will update 2011 real soon, and then start updating after each month in 2012 :)

Incroyable de se dire que ça fait 10 ans que les tours jumelles sont tombées...

Aujourdhui, Stéphane a passé la journée à l'aréna Laval-Ouest. Au début, c'était pour la pratique de Xavier, puis, le directeur Midget lui a demandé de rester pour être sur la glace (et évaluer) tous les groupes Midget, jusqu'au groupe à Étienne à 18h)

Incredible to think that 10 years ago, the twin towers collapsed...

Today, DH spent the day at the arena. First it was for Xav's practice, but then the Midget director asked him to be on the ice for all the midget groups up until Étienne's practice at 6pm!

Ce soir, alors qu'Étienne était à sa pratique de hockey, Béatrice et moi on s'est installées pour faire des bijoux! Pas de techniques incroyables, j'aime beaucoup les très grands colliers élastiques avec de petites petites perles, ça me rappelle mon adolescence!!

While Étienne was at his practice tonight, Béa and I created some necklaces!! Nothing fancy, just some very basic tiny beads on stretchable cords, which remind me of my teenage years!

Depuis que je travaille, ma mijoteuse est devenue ma meilleure amie!! Trop cool de préparer tout le matin (ou la veille), de plogguer la mijoteuse le matin, et d'arriver le soir et sentir de bonnes odeurs envahissant la maison!

Since I've started working, the crock-pot has become my best friend! So cool to prepare everything the night before or the same morning, and throw everything in, and to walk in after work and smell the delicious aromas of food that's all done!

Téamo est tombé en amour avec quelques toutous qui lui ont été offerts par une dame qui a perdu son chien. Je ne pensais pas qu'il aimerait, vu qu'ils appartenaient à un autre chien avant, mais au contraire, il adoooore!

Téamo fell in love with some toys given to us by a lady who lost her dog. I didnt think he'd like the fact that it used to belong to another dog, but he loves them!

Béa et moi on a pris ça cool au camping ce matin, puis on est allés magasiner, chez Scampers, Joanns, TJ Maxx et compagnie. En revenant, j'ai comme oublié que c'était la fête du travail et au lieu de passer par mes ptites douanes habituelles... me suis rendue jusqu'à Rouses Point... pour finalement être pognées dans le traffic pendant 45min, grrr!! C'était l'heure du souper, facque on a soupé avec des biscuits graham et chocolat... lol!! On est quand même arrivés à temps pour voir une pratique de xavier!

Bea and I took it easy this morning at the campsite, and then we went shopping a bit. On our way back, I kinda forgot it was labor day... and I didnt pass by our usual little customs. I went to Rouses Point... and we got stuck in traffic for 45minutes, grr!! It was supper time, so we ate what we had... which is chocolate covered graham cookies! LOL!!
But we did end up being on time for xav's practice!

En matinée, il ne fait pas très beau, avec de la pluie intermittente. Béatrice, avec ses cousines Alicia, Victoria et Annabelle, ainsi que les filles à Cynthia, Marisol et Florence, s'amuse à faire des bijoux chez ma soeur.
Après le dîner, il faisait beau et très chaud, on a donc décidé, toute la gang, d'aller cueillir des pommes à l'Isle LaMotte. C'était bien plaisant, sauf que ce verger avait subi les inondations du mois de Mai, et les pommes étaient bien laides. Fallait donc travailler fort pour en trouver quelques unes qui étaient belles!! Les chiens ont adoré ça entouka!

This morning, it wasn't really nice outside, with rain showers. Bea and her cousins Alicia, Victoria and Annabelle, as well as Cynthia's girls Marisol and Florence, created jewelry for a while.
After lunch, it was sunny and super warm, so we decided, the whole gang, to go pick apples at the orchard in Isle LaMotte. It was really nice, except for the fact that 98% of the apples were bad because of the May floods. It was a struggle to find a few!! The dogs loved running free!!

Ce matin, Xavier avait son évaluation de gardien de but. Ensuite, Béatrice avait une pratique à 11:30, qui était aussi une évaluation pour déterminer qui ferait le camp du A.
Dès sa pratique terminée, elle et moi on s'est poussée pour aller au camping. Les gars avaient des pratiques dimanche et lundi, mais pas Béa, donc on en profite, juste entre filles!!

This morning, Xav had his goalie evaluation. Then Béa had a practice at 11:30, which also was an evaluation to see if she'd make the camp for Atom A.
As soon as her practice was done, she and I headed to the campground, just between us girls, since the boys had practices sunday and monday!

Depuis un ptit bout, je travaille sur un nouvel album de scrap, un nouveau concept sur lequel j'ai trippé, un smash book! Trop cool comme concept, de garocher, de pas se soucier des règles de design, on peut inclure ce qu'on veut---coupures de revues, dépliants, photos, citations... pas de règles! J'adore, et j'en ferai un pour chaque saison, je crois! Celui-ci est sur l'été qui se termine!

For a bit now, i've been working on a Smash Book, which is the latest trend in scrapbooking. I'm so digging this concept!! Just smash whatever you want in it, dont worry about the rules of design or anything! I love it, and I plan on doing one for each season! This one is on this past summer.

L'école recommence!! Contrairement à la majorité des parents, je n'en suis pas contente du tout, je préfère avoir mes enfants en vacances, sont moins stressés donc ils s'obstinent moins! mais bon...
Voici mes cocos ce matin, à l'école. Xavier entre en 6ème et a M. Mario comme prof!! Il est déçu de ne pas être dans la classe de ses 2 complices, mais on le savait d'avance. Je crois qu'avoir un prof gars sera très bénéfique pour lui!
Béa entre en 5ème avec Mme Marie-Claude, et a sa grande amie yara dans sa classe, ainsi que Marissa.

It's back to school today!! Unlike most parents, I hate it. I prefer having my kids home, they are less stressed and dont get on each other's nerves (or mine) as much. But such is life...

Here are my kiddos this morning, at school. Xav is in 6th grade with Mr. Mario. He's dissapointed that he's not in the same class as his 2 buddies, but we knew that'd be the case. I think having a male teacher will be beneficial for him!
Bea's in 5th with Mme Marie-Claude, and her good friend Yara is in her class, as well as her old friend Marissa.

Demain, c'est la rentrée, et comme chaque année, les enfants doivent fabriquer qqch pour la fête de rentrée. Cette année, le thème étant l'époque médiévale, ils ont demandé aux enfants de faire des armoiries. Chaque niveau avait son dessin à ajouter (instruments de musique pour la 5ème, le lion pour la 6ème...). Béatrice et moi on a donc travaillé sur ses armoiries, qu'on a créés exclusivement avec du matériel de scrapbooking (j'ai ressorti de vieux vieux papier texturés!!). xavier, quant à lui, a refusé de faire son bricolage. Grr, fait chier des préados!

Tomorrow is the first day of school, and for the celebrations of it, the kids were asked to create their own coat of arms, since their theme this year is medieval times. Each grade had to incorporate a specific theme (5th= music instruments ; 6th= lions, etc). Bea and I had fun today working on hers. I took out realllly old scrapbook stuff (hello textured papers) for it. Xav, however, did not want to participate. The joy of preteens!

L'ouragan Irène frappe, aujourdhui. Ici, à Laval, on a que de la pluie. Mais je suis clouée à la télé et au web, à regarder ce qui se passe au Vermont. Pauvre Vermont y goûte pas à peu près, c'est horrible. De la pluie diluvienne, avec des inondations incroyables emportant avec elles d'historiques pont couverts. Trop triste.

Hurricane Irene is hitting the east coast today. Here in Laval, we just got rain. But I'm glued to the tv and computer, watching what is happening in Vermont. Poor Vermont is getting hit hard, it's horrible. Heavy rains, and flash flooding, destroying historical covered bridges among other things. So sad.

Bon ben, le hockey est officiellement recommencé à fond!!
Aujourdhui, Béatrice avait pratique à 15:30. Puisque c'était sa première fois de la saison, je tenais à aller faire un tour... mais rien qu'un tour: fallait que j'aille au hockey de Xavier à 17h à l'autre bout de la ville!! Mon beau-frère et ses enfants sont venus nous rejoindre!

Well, hockey season is in with a bang!
Today, Bea had her first practice at 3:30. I really wanted to go see her, but I had to leave pretty quickly, since Xavier also had practice, at 5pm, on the other side of town!! My BIL and his kids came and watched Xav goal.

En congé aujourdhui. On en profite pour magasiner tous les effets scolaires des enfants (280$, bordel) puis pour aller voir nos amis Nathalie et sa marmaille de gars! Faisait un mois qu'on s'était pas vus!! Maintenant, Béa a vraiment un fan club!! Jacob, William et maintenant Alexandre qui dit très clairement "Béa" et veut toujours qu'elle le prenne et pleure si elle s'en va!! hihihi!!

Day off today. We bought all the school supplies (280$, ugh). Then we visited with my friend nathalie and her kids. We hadnt seen each other in a month! Bea really has a fan club there. Jacob (7), William, 3... and now even Alex, who at 1, is saying Béa and wanting for her to pick him up, and crying when she leaves! teehee!!

Aujourdhui, Béa est venue au travail avec moi. Puis, j'avais une réunion avec ma boss et collègues, comme chaque mois. Eh bien... j'ai reçu le titre d'Employée Du Mois (en fait, du trimestre, elle en donne au 3 mois... et je suis la 2ème seulement à recevoir le titre!!) Je suis super contente!!!

Today Bea came to my work. Afterwards, I had a meeting like every month. Well, I got the Employee of the Month title (actually, it's given every 3 months). I'm only the second one to receive it, so it's quite an honour!!

C'est la vraie fête à Béatrice. Mon BÉBÉ qui a 10 ans, comment est-ce possible?!!!!!!
Les beaux-parents sont venus pour le gâteau. Béa était bien contente des cadeaux qu'on lui a offert!!
Avant le souper, toutefois, il fallait aller au HOCKEY!!! Eh oui, la saison est bel et bien recommencée... *soupir*
C'était une pratique pour Xavier, qui est, pour la première fois, un GARDIEN DE BUTS!!!! Ouf, méchant changement!!

Today is Bea's real birthday! My BABY is 10, how can that be?!!!!!!
The ILs came over for cake. bea was really happy with the gifts we gave her!!

Before supper, however, we had hockey!! Xav was doing his first practice as a GOAL TENDER!!!! OMG, what a change!!

Béa a passé une bonne nuit, la fièvre a bien descendue. Heureusement, car aujourdhui, c'est sa fête au camping, ainsi que l'Halloween des campeurs.
Il y avait Alicia, Victoria, Annabelle, Laurie, Rosalie, Georgia, Damien et Frédérique, ainsi que mes enfants évidemment. Béa n'était pas au top de sa forme, mais elle allait vraiment mieux! Elle a reçu de beaux cadeaux.
Ensuite, tout le monde a mis la main à la pâte pour préparer les enfants pour l'Halloween. Béa était en Raggedy Ann (j'ai trouvé les morceaux de son costume aux bazars, et j'ai réutilisé sa belle robe blanche), Xavier était en vieille grand-mère (tout trouvé à la Mission) et à la dernière minute, Étienne a décidé de se déguiser... en Schtroumpfette!! Trop tordant, vraiment!!!
Xavier a gagné le 1er prix pour une 2e année consécutive!!

Bea had a good night and her fever came down. Thankfully, since it's her birthday party today, as well as the camper's Halloween!!
There were Alicia, Victoria, Annabelle, Georgia, Laurie, Rosalie, Damien and Frédérique. Bea wasnt top shape, but doing good. She got some great gifts.

Then everyone started working on their costumes, helping everyone out, very cool.
Bea was Raggedy Ann, xavier was an old grandma (their stuff was all found at thrift stores) and at the last minute, Étienne decided to dress up.... as the Smurfette!! It was HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!
Xavier won first prize for the second year in a row!!

Aujourdhui, on avait l'intention d'aller à la maison hantée du lac george et de faire un peu de shopping.
Mais il en a été tout autrement malheureusement!
Ce matin, alors qu'elle voulait aller aux toilettes, Béa a commencé à mal filer. Ses pupilles étaient dilatées, et en voulant s'asseoir dans l'auto, elle est foncé dedans, sans aucune réaction. Je l'ai même giflée pour voir si elle allait réagir. On est donc partis pour la roulotte. Finalement, on a dû aller à l'hopital dans le Vermont, quand j'ai réalisé que c'était causé par une montée de fièvre... et cette fièvre causée par une amygdalite!! Notre 1ere expérience dans un hopital américain, on a été traités comme des rois, et en 45 minutes on est sortis de là!! incroyable!! Béa a recu une forte dose d'antibios et une prescription pour les 5 prochains jours. Pauvre cocotte!!!

Today, we had planned on visiting the Haunted House in Lake George, and do a bit of shopping. But it all went a whole other way unfortunately.

This morning when she wanted to go to the restrooms, Bea started not feeling well. Her pupils got dilated and she slammed against the car and fell, with no reaction whatsoever. I even slapped her to bring her back to her senses.
We got our stuff packed and left. We went to the hospital in Vermont. It was a fever spike, caused by tonsilitis. Poor baby! It was our first time in an american hospital. We were treated like royalty, so refreshing!! And in 45min, we were done!! She got a massive dose of antibiotics, and a prescription for the coming week. Poor baby!!

La journée que les enfants attendaient impatiemment!! On est allés passer la journée au Great Escape (entrée gratuite avec nos passes de La Ronde). On a TRIPPÉ!!!! Quel bel endroit! Tellement plus "family friendly" que La Ronde!! Et plein de petits plus qui font que j'ai préféré ça à la ronde!!
Il fait chaud et super beau. On a fait les manèges traditionnels en premier lieu. Les enfants ont adoré le Bobsleigh, j'ai trippé aussi!!
Après notre dîner, on a fait le WaterPark. Et là, on a vraiment trippé!! Le Tornado était DÉBILE!! J'avais la chienne au départ, et ne voulait pas le faire. Mais j'ai surmonté ma peur... et j'ai tellement trippé que je l'ai refait 3 fois!! Nous voici dans le Tornado. Merci à Étienne pour la photo! :)
Le seul downside....le waterpark ferme à 18h... et le reste du parc ferme à 19h!! beaucoup trop tôt à mon avis!!
On est donc allés manger chez Pizza Hut, mais ma pinotte ne file pas fort donc on ne peut pas apprécier vraiment.

The day the kids had been waiting for... we spent the day at the Great Escape (free with our la Ronde passes!!). LOVED it. So gorgeous, and so much more family friendly than La Ronde!! It was gorgeous and warm. We did the traditionnal rides first. We all enjoyed the Bobsleigh the best.
Then after our lunch, we visited the waterpark!! SO MUCH FUN!!! We all enjoyed the Tornado the best. I was really scared before going in, but I faced my fears and went anyway... and it ROCKED!!!!!!! I even did it 3 times in a row!! Thanks Étienne for the picture!!
The only downside? The waterpark closes at 6pm and the park closes at 7pm. WAY too early IMO.
We ate at pizza hut afterwards, but Béa was not feeling well.

Ca fait des années (en fait, depuis qu'on a une roulotte) qu'on est pas allés en vacances en tente!! On a donc planifié de petites vacances cette année. On est partis, direction Lake George!! Rien de bien fancy, mais des vacances amusantes pour les enfants. On est allés installer la tente (au Adirondack Camping Village) puis on est allés explorer un peu le village et le bord de l'eau. On a soupé au camping (hot dogs et hamburgers), joué à l'arcade, fait un bon feu, et puis un beau dodo (avec une histoire de Hulk comme dans le bon vieux temps haha)

It's been years since we took a vacation and went tent camping!! So we planned a trip to Lake George. Nothing fancy, but all for the kids!
We went to Adirondack Camping Village and set up tent. Then we visited the boardwalk. We ate supper at the camp (hotdogs and burgers), played in the arcades, built a fire and slept in the tent (with a Hulk story like the old times LOL)

Aujourdhui, une petite virée à la Mission avec Béa. On est ensuite allée au marais sur la 78, pour observer les différentes sortes de canards et une bernache non farouche!
Puis, après le souper, toute la gang est allée jouer au football au parc du camping. Je n'ai pas joué, mais me suis amusée à prendre des photos d'eux, tout en admirant le superbe coucher de soleil!

Went to the Mission Thrift Store with Bea this afternoon, and then went to the pond to see the ducks and even a goose!
After supper, everyone went to the park to play football. I didnt play, but had fun taking pics while admiring the gorgeous sunset!

Dans la chasse aux trésors de Venture Vermont, il était écrit de fabriquer des cabanes d'oiseaux. Avec du bois "driftwood" trouvé hier sur le vieux pont, et avec beaucoup (trop) de colle chaude, on a tous créé une cabane unique! Béatrice et Stéphane en ont créée une ensemble, en fait c'est une mangeoire et non une cabane.

For our Venture Vermont adventure, we had to build a birdhouse. I got some driftwood yesterday at the old bridge, and with a lot of hot glue, we all built one! Here is Bea and Stéphane with the one they did together, which is actually a feeder, not a house!

On a emmené les enfants, ainsi que Victo et Ali, pêcher sur la rivière Missisquoi. Mais il y avait beaucoup d'algues et peu de succès, donc on est allés sur le vieux pont reliant alburgh et swanton. On a pêché un bon bout de temps. Béa, ma championne pêcheuse, mettait les vers sur les hameçons pour tout le monde, et dégageait les poissons pris sur les hameçons!!

Brought the kids fishing at the Missisquoi River, but there was too much algae and not much success. So we went on the old bridge between alburgh and swanton. We fished a while. Bea, quite a pro now, was the one putting the worm on for everyone, and she also removed everyone's fish!!

J'ai emmené mon frère et ma soeur aux chutes Crystal. C'était leur première fois. Je crois que tout le monde a bien aimé ça. Pendant que mon frère explorait la grotte sous-terraine, les enfants s'amusaient à sauter dans le trou. Les enfants ont aussi exploré la falaise de glaise un peu plus bas. Ensuite, j'ai emmené ma soeur au swim hole de RiverWalk, tout proche, où les enfants ont fait la corde de tarzan pour sauter dans l'eau.

I brought my sister and brother at the Crystal Falls. It was their first time. I think everyone enjoyed it. While my brother was exploring the underwater, the kids were jumping off the boulder. The kids also explored the cliff further down.
Then, after my bro left, I brought my sister to the RiverWalk Swim Hole, really close by, where the kids jumped off a rope!

On a quitté pour le Vermont après le souper: Je suis en vacances la semaine prochaine, woohoo!!! Sur le chemin, dans le coin de Lacolle, on avait une superbe vue sur la pleine lune qui commencait à monter. Mais cette même pleine lune nous a empêché d'admirer la pluie de perséïdes, au camping, tellement elle brille dans le ciel.

We left home to go to Vermont after supper. I am on vacation next week, yippeeee!! One our way there, in Lacolle, we had a gorgeous sight, with the sun setting behind us and the full moon, huge and bright. But this same bright moon made it impossible to watch the shooting stars tonight :(

Avec mes longs shifts de cette semaine, quand j'arrive à la maison, j'ai juste envie de relaxer!! J'ai commencé un casse-tête...:)

On est partis en expédition pour la journée, un day trip. On est allés dans le coin de Jay Peak, où on a visité des ponts couverts, s'est promenés sur un sentier en montagne, visité les Big Falls (trop dangereux pour s'y aventurer!!) et visité les chutes communément appellées Four Corners. Wouahhhh!!! Quel endroit magique!!! Il y a, comme aux chutes crystal, un énorme et profond trou d'eau, dans une rivière très peu profonde sinon. Les gens sautent à partir de hautes falaises tout autour. Mes enfants et mon chum s'en sont donné à coeur joie. (moi, j'trop chicken!!). C'était vraiment impressionnant!!!

We went on a road trip today. We went in the Jay Peak area, where we visited covered bridges, trails, visited the Big Falls (too dangerous to try and reach them) and visited the AWESOME falls commonly called Four Corners. WOOOOOOW!!!! What a magical place!! There is, just like at the Crystal Falls, a huge, deep swim hole, in a quite shallow river. People jump from the cliff all around it. My kids and Stéphane had a blast jumping (*I* am too chicken!!) Very very impressive!!

On est partis au camping ce matin. En arrivant au Mobil local, ils faisaient une grosse fête et offraient gratuitement hot dogs, nachos, pop corn, crème glacée, biscuits, liqueurs, jus, eau, lait, et plein de cadeaux (frisbees, crayons cire, aimants, casquettes...) c'est fou!!

Comme on fait la chasse aux trésors Venture Vermont, il y a quelques activités que je voulais faire avec les enfants... dont créer un abri dans la nature, jouer au frisbee, jouer au parc de jeux. Je me suis amusée comme une folle. Et puisque pour cette chasse aux trésors, on doit tous avoir des photos de nous en train de faire les activités,Stéphane m'a prise en photo aussi. C'est vraiment cool d'avoir des photos de moi pour une fois!!

We left for the campsite this morning. When we go to the local Mobil station, there was a huge party and they were offering free hot dogs, nachos, pop corn, ice cream, cookies, sodas, juice, milk, water... and tons of gifts (frisbees, crayons, magnets, caps)... Cool!!

Since we're doing the treasure hunt Venture Vermont, there were a few activities I wanted to do, like build a shelter outside, play frisbee, go at the playground. I had fun!!! Since I need pictures of ME doing these things as well, for Venture Vermont, DH took pics of me. It's rare that I have pics of ME!!

J'ai acheté des toiles, des pastels gras et de la peinture, en prévision d'une activité que je veux faire avec les enfants (faire une toile du même coucher de soleil, tous en même temps). Béatrice en a profité pour faire une toile au pastel gras.

Stéphane a pris congé aujourdhui, puisque j'avais congé aussi, et on est allés virer à La Ronde!!! On y a emmené nos 3 enfants ainsi qu'Audrey l'amie de Béa et Jf et Éric les amis à Étienne. On est restés de 11h à 20h, je suis complètement claquée, et il faisait chaud!!! Mais on a eu une superbe journée!!
Constat 1- je suis pissoue
Constat 2- Xavier est comme son père, et ne tolère pas quand ça tourne en rond
Constat 3- Béatrice est game!!

Stephane took the day off today, since I had a day off as well, and we headed to our 6flags park, La Ronde! We brought our 3 kids as well as Étienne's buddies Jf and Eric, and Bea's friend Audrey. We stayed from 11 til 8pm, it was a long day and I was beat, but we had a ton of fun!!
I realized that 1- I'm chicken sh!t, 2- Xav is like his dad, cannot tolerate anything that turns 3- Bea is brave!

J'ai amené Béatrice, Xavier et Jaime au ciné-parc pour voir les Schtroumpfs. C'était leur première fois au cinéparc, et moi ca faisait 20 ans que je n'avais pas mis les miens dans un. On a adoré ce film, tellement drôle!!!

Took Bea, Xavier and Jaime to the drive-in theater to see the Smurfs movie!! It was the kids' first time at the drive in... and as for me, I hadn't been in about 20 years!! We loved the movie, quite funny!

Avant de quitter le Vermont, Béa et moi avons visité un parc de jeux à Swanton... on n'y était jamais allée, incroyable! On s'est promenées le long de la rivière, à côté de ce parc... on a une belle vue sur le barrage!

Before leaving vermont, Béa and I headed to a playground in Swanton, which we'd never been to. We walked alongside the river, next to the park. Great view of the dam!

Béa, de son côté, a décidé de faire une vente de garage avec Alicia. Elle a récolté 3$ environ hihi!! En soirée, je les ai watchées pendant qu'elles se baignaient dans le lac!

Dh left for the city this afternoon, bringing Xavier with him, after spending the whole morning fishing together.
Bea and Alicia had a yard sale. She made 3$ or so, lol!!

Ce matin, ma soeur et moi avons fait la tournée des ventes de garage d'Alburgh (y'en avait plein, à cause du Festival!) pendant que Stéphane était à la pêche avec Béa.... j'ai déniché de petits trésors, comme un sapin argenté de 7,5 pieds pour 5$, incluant 150 ornements bleus et argents!!
Ensuite, on est allés visiter le Hyde Log Cabin, qui serait supposément la plus vieille maison en bois rond des États Unis (datant du 18ème siècle!! Une famille de 10 enfants y habitait!!). c'était très intéressant!!

This morning, my sister and i went garage sale-ing in Alburgh, while DH was fishing with Béa. I found several treasures, like a silver xmas tree (7,5 feet high) for 5$, including 150 ornements!!

Then, we visited Hyde Log Cabin, which is most likely the oldest log cabin in the united states (for sure of New England), dating back to the 18th century. A Family of 10 kids used to live in that!! it was very interesting!

Ce weekend, c'est le Festival of the Islands, et il y a plein d'évènements à travers les iles du Vermont... incluant l'accès gratuit au Knight Point State Park. Je n'y avais jamais été auparavant. Il faisait frais et venteux, donc je suis contente que c'était gratos! On y a été avec ma soeur et Mégane, une amie du camping(voir l'an dernier, Béatrice s'amusait bcp avec elle). C'était quand même le fun de découvrir un nouveau state park. Et c'est toujours cool de pique-niquer ailleurs :)

This weekend is the Festival of the Islands, and there are a ton of events across the islands... including free access to Knight Point State Park! I had never been before. It was cool and windy, so I was glad that I didnt pay to get in. We went with my sister and Mégane, a friend from the campground (see last year)
It was still fun to discover a new state park, and to have a picnic somewhere new! :)

Après un petit shift de 3 heures ce matin, j'ai filé en direction du camping avec les 2 petits. Évidemment, je devais aller à l'épicerie. En revenant, on a encore une fois pogné le train, qui bloquait les 2 routes menant au camping. Donc on est encore allés marcher sur le vieux pont, à côté. On a ramassé des chenilles, qu'on a gardé pour les voir se transformer en papillon, espérons-le.
J'adore cette photo des enfants, qui sont allés sur le quai de la descente de bateau, pour le fun.

After a 3hour shift, I left, direction vermont, with the 2 younger ones. Of course I had to go to the grocery store. When we came back, a train was blocking both roads that lead up to the campsite. So we decided to wait for it to pass (it goes slowly, since it has to go on the old wood bridge). We went on the old Alburgh-Swanton bridge, next to the new one. We picked up some caterpillars (which we'll keep, to watch them transform into butterflies).

Hier, mon frère Jocelyn m'a contactée pour me dire qu'Ariane, sa fille, était en ville avec sa mère (ils habitent Halifax!! on les voit pas souvent...) et aimerait venir coucher chez nous pour passer du temps avec nous, et surtout Béa!! Quel plaisir de l'accueillir chez nous! Ariane a un an et demi de plus que Béa, mais ça ne parait pas, puisqu'elle est assez petite et que Béa est très grande!! Et, bizarement, on aurait dit des jumelles!!! Elles se ressemblent beaucoup: mêmes cheveux, mêmes joues, même shape, même style vestimentaire... c'est fou!
Elles sont venues passer la journée à mon travail (je faisais du 9 à 5 malheureusement), et on est allées pique-niquer au parc derrière ma job, pour le dîner. Elles ont eu TELLEMENT de fun ensemble, c'est vraiment plate qu'elle habite si loin!!

Yesterday, my brother Jocelyn contacted me to tell me his daughter Ariane was in town with her mom (they live in Halifax, so we dont see them often!) and she wanted to come see Béatrice! It was so cool to have her here. She's a year and a half older than Béa (only 5 months younger than Xavier!!) but they seem to be the same age, since Ariane is small, and Bea is tall!! And, oddly enough, they looked like twins!! Same hare, same cheeks, same shape, same style. It's weiiiird!!
I was working 9-5 so they tagged along, and for our lunch, we went picnicking in the park behind my work.
They had such a blast together. It's so bad that she lives so far!!

Le seul avantage de devoir travailler pendant l'été, c'est que je peux voir les gens que j'aime, qui restent en ville!! Comme mon amie Nathalie et ses garcons, incluant mon adorable filleul Alexandre!! Il est trop mignon!!! Mes enfants ont passé l'après-midi là, alors que je travaillais!

The only advantage to working during the summer is seeing people i love who stay in the city. Like my friend Nathalie and her boys, including my adorable godson Alex! He's so cute! My kids spent the day there while I worked!

Toute notre gang- Daniel, sa fille et sa blonde; Nathalie, ses filles et son ami; ainsi que moi et ma gang, on est allés à Alburgh Dunes, un autre State Park, qui est très proche du camping, et qu,on ADORE. Le sable est un sable de mer (qui date du temps qu'il y avait l'océan ici, ya des millions d'années! Y'a dailleurs des plantes sur la plage, qu'on ne retrouve qu'au bord de l'océan), l'eau est chaude, ça descend très tranquillement, et la vue est époustouflante!! J'adooooore!! Quelle magnifique journée!! Dommage qu'il faut retourner en ville ce soir...

The whole gang (including my family, my brother Dan's daughter and his gf, my sister and her kids and her friend) went to Alburgh Dunes, another Vt State Park, which is really close to the campground. Love this place! The sand is an ocean beach sand (from the time that there was the ocean here, millions of years ago) the water is warm, it goes down very slowly and the view is spectacular! Loooooove it!! What a beautiful day. Too bad we have to go back home tonight...

Boohoo, je travaillais ce matin!!! Un shift assez fou, mais bon, vite passé!!
Dès ma sortie, direction camping avec toute la marmaille et mon homme. Vite vite retrouver la paix....
Stéphane est allé pêcher avec Étienne, tandis que Xavier pêchait sur le quai d'Hugo et que Béa se baignait dans le lac avec Daniel. Moi, je lisais sur le bord de l'eau et j'admirais le coucher du soleil! :)
En soirée, qqun s.est amusé à faire des feux d'artifices, on a été gâtés, surtout qu'on en avait pas eu au 4th!!
Ah, et admirez la belle photo de moi et mon chéri, prise par Étienne!

Wahhh, working this morning. A crazy shift, but quickly done with. As soon as I got out, we left for Vermont.
DH went fishing with Étienne, while Xav was fishing on our friend's dock and Bea was swimming with my brother. And I was admiring the sunset as usual!!
After the sun went down, we had a surprise- Someone was doing fireworks!! yay!! Since we didnt have any on the 4th this year, it was appreciated!!

Je dois quitter ce soir, mais ca ne m'empêchera certainement pas de profiter de cette magnifique journée!! Nathalie retournait aux chutes, mais j'avais envie de faire différent. Donc, direction Montgomery, où y'a d'autres chutes que j'adore, et que j'ai découvert y'a 2 ans!! Ces chutes sont situées sous un pont couvert (le Vermont en possède plein) et l'eau y est très peu profonde, excepté un genre de "piscine" profonde de 15 pieds, où les enfants s'amusent à sauter!! On y a passé toute la journée!! pique-nique, exploration de l'endroit, sauts dans la partie creuse, massage sous la chute, exploration des différents niveaux de la chute... On y a rencontré plusieurs personnes hyper gentilles. Ça été très très utile quand xavier s'est fait pogné par une sangsuuuuue!! OUACHHHHE!!!

I have to leave tonight, but it wont stop me from enjoying this gorgeous day!! My sister was going back to "our" falls, but I wanted to do something different. So, direction Montgomery, where there are other falls I love, which I found 2 years ago. They are right below a covered bridge (Vermont has a ton of them) and the water is very shallow except for this one "pool" that is 15 feet deep, where we can jump, from the rocks! We spent the whole day there- picnic, exploring the place, jumping in the pool, massage under the falls, exploring the different levels of the fall... We met several nice people, which was quite a blessing when Xav had a leach on his foot!! YUUUUCK!!

Une journée assez chillax au camping. Il fait chaud, j'ai pas envie de longue promenade nécessairement!! On passe donc la journée dans la piscine (moi aussi!!) avec les cousines et les amis de ceux-ci qui sont ici.
En soirée, Béatrice a trouvé un crapaud dégueu!!

Je suis venue au camping, jusqu'à vendredi soir (on est mercredi), puis je retournerai en ville puisque je travaille (remplacement) samedi matin. Mais je reviendrai au camping après mon shift, hihi!!
Donc aujourdhui, épicerie et relax à la roulotte, avec évidemment une bonne saucette dans la piscine, il fait tellement chaud (malgré qu'on soit bien, ya une bonne brise tout de même :)

So today, grocery shopping and relaxing at the trailer, with, of course, a dip in the pool, it's so hot outside (but yknow what, it's not to bad at the campground, there's a breeze from the lake)

Avec Sylvain et sa ptite famille, on est allés pêcher à St-Albans Bay, là où il y a un gros quai de ciment. On y a fait un pique-nique, puis, pour dessert, j'ai payé une crème glacée molle, au kiosque d'en face, à mes enfants. J'ai commandé un format médium, en croyant que ca serait juste parfait.... mais en oubliant qu'on est dans le pays du SuperSize... regardez le format "médium" américain!!! O_o

With my BIL and his family, we went fishing in St-Albans Bay, where there is a huge dock. We first had a picnic and for dessert, I decided to treat my kids to a soft serve cone across the street. I asked for a medium size, thinking it'd be perfect... but forgetting we're in the land of SuperSize!! Look at the size of that thing!

En matinée, j'ai fait des ventes de garage, puis quand je suis revenue, surprise! Mon beau-frère et sa famille étaient ici!!
On est allés à mon endroit préféré au monde ;) les chutes de Mooers. Maudit que j'adore ça aller là!! Yavait beaucoup de monde, j'ai jamais vu autant de monde que ca, mais cpas grave, c'est cool pareil!

We went to my favourite place on earth, Mooers Falls. I just love it there. There was a ton of people however. But it was still cool!

Toute la ptite famille, on a décidé d'aller visiter le Kill Kare State Park, un superbe parc régional avec de beaux rochers et une vue surprenante, ainsi que 2 plages (sable et cailloux). On y avait été l'an dernier, mais pas Stéphane, donc je voulais lui montrer. On s'est vraiment amusé, pique-nique, baignade, volleyball.
En soirée, j'ai appris pour la première fois de ma vie, comment jouer aux échecs.

We decided to go to Kill Kare State Park in St-Albans, an awesome Vt State Park with boulders and rocks and an incredible view! It has 2 beaches, one where the water is stable and warm, the other with waves. We had gone last year, but DH wasnt with us, so i wanted to show it to him. We had a lot of fun, picnic, swimming, volleyball.
In the evening, Étienne taught me how to play chess, lol!

On est arrivés au camping, et Stéphane est venu avec nous! Pour la première fois, on a fait des Smores. En fait, Béa y avait gouté chez notre ami Bill au début de l'été, mais nous, on avait jamais fait ca. Voici Béa en pleine dégustation!

Après mon shift ce matin, je suis allée chez une amie du secondaire, Isabelle, pour faire un photoshoot de sa petite dernière, Flavie, ainsi que de la famille au complet. C'était vraiment cool de la revoir, et ses enfants sont adorables!!

Today after my shift, I headed north to do a photoshoot at an old high school friend's place. She just had her 3rd baby, so I shooted the baby as well as the other kids and the whole family. It was really cool to see her again!

Je garde Éli et Marianne à nouveau, ça fait plaisir d'aider ma copine Val, surtout que ma fille en est hyper heureuse!!! Je les ai emmenées au parc de jeux d'eau. C'était notre première fois, on a adoré ça!!

On a préparé un pique-nique, qu'on est allés manger au parc de St-Albans Bay. Les enfants en ont profité pour se baigner dans la baie et moi pour ramasser des morceaux de beach glass. Béa a joué au parc un moment et les gars ont joué avec le ballon de soccer que j'ai trouvé à l'armée du salut avant d'aller là (où Béa s'est acheté un ourson build-a-bear pour moins de 2$). On a marché sur le quai de la marina, puis fait quelques ventes de garage, et ensuite on est arrêtés voir le barrage de Swanton. Béa est magnifique dans ce chandail long, sans manches... vous ne trouvez pas?

We prepared a picnic, which we enjoyed at the St-Albans Bay Park. The kids took a dip in the lake while we were there, then Bea played in the park while the boys played with the soccer ball I picked up at the Salvation Army on our way there (where bea bought a build-a-bear teddy for less than 2$!). We walked on the marina docks and went to a few garage sales. We finally stopped to see the dam in Swanton (we always just drive over it, never stopped before!!)

Avec ma soeur, on est allés faire un pique-nique à l'Isle LaMotte. J'adore cet endroit, où mon père m'emmenait souvent quand j'étais petite. J'y emmène les enfants plusieurs fois par été. C'est à 15min de notre camping à peine, et les enfants adorent y ramasser des roches et du beach glass!! On y est restés plusieurs heures. Les enfants se sont baignés (moi aussi, mais pas beaucoup, l'eau était froide!!) et les chiens ont couru après des bâtons pendant tout ce temps. With my sis, we went to Isle Lamotte. I love this place, where my father used to bring me often. I bring the kids several times each summer. It's 15min from our campground and the kids love beachcombing there. We stayed several hours. The kids and the dogs swam in the lake (I took a little dip, but it was cold so I didnt stay long). On our way back, we also stopped at 2 of our "secret" beach-glass-picking places!!

On est partis aux États ce matin, et on a emmené Jaime avec nous. Je ne travaille pas avant lundi soir!! woohoo!!
On est allés se baigner à Fairfield Pond encore une fois... c'parce que c'est tellement cool que ça soit gratuit, pas trop loin (20aine de minutes) et que l'eau soit si chaude!! Et on peut y emmener le chien!! Les enfants ont eu ben du fun.
Après le souper, ma soeur avait un ami en visite, et celui-ci a acheté PLEIN de sparklers pour les enfants. Nos kids n'avaient jamais joué avec ça avant. Ils ont trippé, mais trippé!!!!! Et moi, j'ai eu BEN du fun à les prendre en photo!! J'adore les photos que ça a donné!!

We left town this morning, and brought Jaime along with us at the campground. I dont work until monday night, woot!!
We went swimming in Fairfield Pond again- it's so cool because it's free, it's close (20 min or so) and the water is so warm!! AND, we can bring the dog!! The kids had a blast!!
After supper, my sister had a friend visiting, and he brought along sparklers, LOADS of them. Our kids had never tried them. They LOVED it!!! And I had a blast taking pictures of it!!

Je travaille à 16h aujourdhui, ca me laisse quand même amplement le temps de faire une activité avec les enfants et Stéphane, qui a congé aujourdhui. On a donc décidé de retourner au parc de la rivière des Mille-Iles, mais de louer un Rabaska, cette fois. Un rabaska, c'est comme un gros Kayak pour 10 passagers. c'était vraiment trippant. Beaucoup plus difficile que je croyais, par contre!! On avait emmené Charles et Jacob avec nous, et on a fait un pique-nique là-bas. On a découvert une couple d'iles où on est allés se promener. c'était vraiment cool. On a nourri des canards et même assisté à une chicane de famille, haha!!

I'm working at 4pm today, which still leaves me plenty of time to do some activities with the kids and DH, who's off today! So we decided to go to the regional park again, to ride a Rabaska, which is a huge 10-person canoe. We brought Charles and Jacob along as well. it was SO COOL!!! A lot harder than I thought it would be- real hard exercice!!! But it was fun!! We visited some islands, fed the ducks and even saw a duck family fight, lol!

Retour en ville ce midi, je travaille ce soir. Ahhh c'pas drôle. :(
Au moins, on a la piscine. Elle est rendue à 85, donc hyper bonne, et même moi je m'y baigne!! Une saucette avant le boulot, une saucette en revenant!!

Demain, c'est la fête des États Unis, le 4th of July, mais c'est aujourdhui qu'avait lieu la parade à Rouses Point. On y est allés, en compagnie de ma soeur et de ses filles. Une belle parade. Les filles s'étaient mises toutes mignonnes pour y assister.

Tomorrow is the fourth of July... but the Rouses Point parade is today. We attended it with my sis and her kids. A nice parade. The girls had dressed up so nice!

Il fait beauuuu!! Ce matin, on est allés faire un tour à la Mission, mon bazar préféré ici, puis on a fait le tour des ventes de garage de Rouses Point. On a fait un pique-nique proche de la marina de RP. Moi, j'ai pogné un coup de soleil sur la nuque... pas pensé à la crème solaire pendant qu'on faisait les ventes de garage, grrr!
Ensuite, les enfants voulaient se baigner, mais comme le lac Champlain est encore assez frais, j'ai eu l'idée d'aller au Fairfield Pond, un petit lac dans les montagnes. Puisque le lac est plus petit, l'eau y devient plus chaude. On s'est bien amusés!! En s'y rendant, j'ai vu une tortue "stationnée" dans la route... on l'a donc remis dans le champ. Béa a pratiqué ses chandelles pendant que les gars jouaient au ballon.
En revenant, je ne pouvais pas passer par les 2 routes menant au camping, puisqu'un looooong train bloquait l'accès. On a donc été se promener sur le vieux pont, qui sert maintenant de quai pour les pêcheurs! On a découvert une petite tortue, sur le dos... Notre 3ème tortue en quelques jours, hihi!!
It's gorgeous out!! This morning, we went to the Mission, a thrift store I love here. Then, we visited several garage sales in Rouses Point and had a picnic near the marina. I didnt think of putting on sunscreen and got a huge sunburn, ugh!!
Then the kids wanted to go swimming, but Lake Champlain was pretty cold. So we headed to Fairfield Pond, a smallish lake in the mountains. Since the lake is smaller, the water gets warmer faster. We had a ton of fun!!
We saw a turtle in the middle of the road and helped her get across.

When we got back, we couldn't go on either road leading to the campground- a train was blocking both entrances. So we decided to park at the boat launch and walk on the old bridge (next to the new one) that now serves as a dock for fishermen. We found yet another turtle, a tiny one this time, laying on its back!! Our 3rd turtle in a week!!

On est finalement arrivés au camping ce midi, après avoir passé une heure trente aux douanes... et c'est des toutes petites douanes!! De plus en plus de gens la connaissent, grrr.... Vive les jours fériés...
Les enfants ont joué au baseball et se sont baignés à la piscine. J'ai fait l'épicerie... Les filles ont trouvé un bébé merle et l'ont soigné.

We finally arrived at the campground around noon, after spending an hour and a half at the customs, grrr!!! That's what happens when it's a long weekend!!
The kids played baseball and swam in the pool. I ran errands. The kids found a baby robin and nursed it back to health.

On devait partir aux États dès mon retour du travail, en après-midi... mais puisque demain c'est la fête du Canada, donc congé, y'avait un trafic d'enfer sur la 13! En une heure, j'ai réussi à juste passer l'aéroport Dorval, grr!! Donc j'ai fait demi-tour. Comme c'était la fête de ma belle-mère, on est allés au restaurant le Buffet des Continents, pour célébrer avec elle.

We were supposed to go to the states after I got home from work in the afternoon. But since tomorrow is Canada Day, so everyone is off, and the traffic jam was horrible!! So, I turned around and we joined the family for MIL's birthday at the restaurant.

Après mon boulot, je suis allée chercher les enfants (et Jaime, qui avait couché chez nous) et on est allés faire un tour au Parc de la Rivière des Mille Iles. C'est juste à côté, et pourtant j'y ai jamais été!! C'est vraiment beau! La prochaine fois, on louera une chaloupe ou un rabaska!!
On a vu une tortue qui était sur la piste cyclable, et on l'a aidé à retrouver la rivière (elle n'arrivait pas à passer sous la clôture!!) Téamo en avait peur, bwahahah!!

After work, I picked the kids up (and Jaime, who had slept over) and we went for a stroll in a regional park close by. I had never been, yet it's 5min from my place!! It's really gorgeous, next time, we'll rent a pedal boat or canoe!
We saw a turtle on the bike road and helped her make it back to safety (she couldn't pass under the fence lol). Téamo was terrified of it!

Je travaillais jusqu'à midi, mais ensuite, je gardais les poulettes à mon amie Valérie, ainsi que Charles. Donc, je les ai emmenés faire un pique-nique au Parc Raimbault, un parc qui a bercé mon adolescence :) Ils ont joué, ont nourri les canards, ont attrapé des ménés... puis on est revenus chez nous s'amuser dans la piscine!! (j'ai fait ma 1ere saucette de la saison!)

I was working til noon, and then was babysitting my friend Valerie's girls, as well as Charles. So we had a picnic at a park close to my childhood home. They had a lot of fun, fed the ducks, caught some minnow and frogs. And then we went home and splashed in the pool (I took my first dip of the season!)

Xavier a décidé de se faire raser les cheveux. Puis en soirée, on est allés, toute la famille et Charles, au parc, ici. On y a rencontré un ami à Étienne, et on a fait une partie de soccer tout le monde ensemble! Très amusant!! Téamo, lui, courait après un boomerang!

Bordel. J'aimerais tellement être au camping... mais 3 jours de pluie sans arrêt, ça me tente pas d'être pognée dans la roulotte. Donc on reste ici.

Une st-Jean sous la pluie. Xavier a passé une partie de la journée chez Charles, pour sa fête, et une autre partie ici, à jouer au Game Cube. Il a acheté cette console de jeux le weekend dernier aux États, dans la friperie Scampers pour 20$, et il ne la lâche pas!

Quebec's national day, and it's totally raining. Sux. Xav spent part of the day at Charles', part of the day here playing his game cube. He bought the game cube last weekend at Scampers, a second hand store in Vermont, for 20$, and is stuck on it!

Aujourdhui était la dernière journée d'école des enfants!!
Je devais travailler jusqu'à 13:30, mais par la suite, comme le veut la tradition, on est allés manger chez Gérard Patate avec mon amie Nathalie et ses enfants. Malheureusement, habituellement on joue dans les jeux extérieurs, mais là il pleuvait à boire debout, donc les enfants ont dû se contenter des jeux intérieurs. Xavier et ses amis n'avaient même pas droit d'aller y jouer, trop vieux! grrr!!

Today was the last day of school!!
I had to work, again, until 1:30pm, but then, per tradition, we had to go to Gerard Patate with my friend Nathalie and her boys. Unfortunately, since it was rainiiiing, we couldnt go play in the restaurant's park, so they had to settle for the indoor kiddie park. And xav and his friends were too old to go in there, grr!

Ma cocotte est venue passer la soirée avec moi au travail!! C'est un bel avantage de travailler là... elle peut venir passer toute la journée avec moi (xavier aussi!), c'est moins cher qu'un camp de jour hihih!! Elle a adoré! Elle était très énervée!!

Bea came and spent the evening at my job!! That's a big advantage of working there... she can come and spend the whole day with me (and Xav too), so she's with me and it costs less than a summer camp, lol! She loved it, and was very excited!!

Téamo avait rendez-vous chez le toiletteur aujourdhui! je suis allée le porter à 9h, mais comme aujourdhui je faisais un long shift (midi à 20h30), je n'ai pas pu aller le chercher, c'est Stéphane, pendant son heure de lunch, qui est allé!! Il est beau mon gros pitou rasé!!

Téamo went to the groomer's, this morning. I brought him at 9am, but couldn't pick him up since I was working a long shift (noon to 8:30pm), DH had to go get him. He's such a cutie all groomed like this!

Je devais travailler ce soir, mais j'ai échangé de shift avec ma gérante, elle fait mon shift ce soir, je fais le sien ce mercredi... J'en ai donc profité pour faire les cadeaux pour les profs de Xav et Béa. Pour le prof de Xav, mon fameux monogramme créé avec des crayons de bois colorés. Mais comme Béa a le même prof que l'an dernier, je ne pouvais pas le faire pour elle aussi... donc j'ai créé une étoile en boutons (son nom de famille est De L'Étoile!) ainsi qu'un vase de crayon à mine de plomb!!

I was supposed to work tonight, but I exchanged shifts with my manager- she's working my shift tonight, I'll work her on wednesday. So I took the opportunity to create the teachers' gifts. For Xav's teacher, I did my usual coloured pencil monogram. But since Bea had the same teacher last year, I can't give her the same thing, lol! So I created a star out of buttons (her last name is De L'Étoile, which litterally translates to Of The Star, cute eh?), as well as a vase made of pencils!

Ce matin, on est allés à un bazar à Rouses Point. On pouvait mettre n'importe quoi dans un sac de vidange, et il nous en coutait 10$ seulement pour un sac plein!! J'ai acheté du linge, des livres, des jouets, du matériel de bricolage et.... un step qui simule monter des marches!! trop cool!! :Les enfants, eux, ont acheté un truc de pêche pour la fête des Pères :)
En revenant, on a pris un chemin qui longe le lac, et sur un terrain, qui était inondé ya pas longtemps, y'avait un immense poisson mort... et 2 vautours qui s'en régalaient!! J'ai crié à Stéphane d'arrêter la voiture!! Cet oiseau s'appelle en réalité un Urubu à Tête Rouge, et en anglais, un Turkey Vulture! Justement, au début, Stéphane pensait que c'était une dinde, haha!! c'était vraiment très impressionnant!!
Puis, on a fêté la fête à Alicia, qui a eu 10 ans. Ensuite, les enfants sont retournés au lac. Cette fois, Téamo et le chien à ma soeur, Tasha, s'en sont donné à coeur joie!! Ils courraient après un bâton, et Téamo n'arrêtait pas d'aller voler le bâton directement dans la gueule de Tasha, haha!!

This morning, we went to Rouses Point to a rummage sale. We could fill a huge bag for 10$. I bought clothes, books, toys, crafts supplies... and a step master!! woot!! The kids bought a fishing lure for DH for Father's Day!
On our way back, we took a road that follows the shoreline. In a yard, that was totally under water just a couple of weeks ago during the floods, was a huge dead fish... and 2 vultures enjoying the feast!! DH thought they were turkeys... and I found out their english name is Turkey Vulture!! Quite impressive!!
Then, we celebrated Alicia's 10th birthday. Kids went in the lake again. This time Téamo and Tasha (my sister's dog), had a ton of fun!! They were runnning after a stick. Téamo kept on stealing the stick right from Tasha's mouth, lol!!

Ce matin, je devais travailler jusqu'à midi, ARGH... puis on est partis au camping!! Ahhh liberté!! je ne peux pas croire que je ne pourrai pas passer l'été complet là bas... En arrivant, Xavier s'est fait un plaisir de tondre le gazon (il adore ça! O_o).
Après le souper, on a pris avantage du fait que les journées sont hyper longues, et les enfants sont allés se baigner dans le lac. Un campeur a trouvé cette vieille planche à voile, et il la laisse à la portée de tous les enfants! Béa s'est amusé au boutte!!

This morning, I had to work until noon, URGH!! but then we left to go to the campground!! Ahh, freedom!! I can't believe that I won't spend the whole summer there :(
When we got there, Xav mowed the lawn (he loves it)
After supper, we took advantage of the fact that the days are super long, and the kids went swimming in the lake. They had a ton of fun on this old board that someone found and lends to the kids. Bea had a total BLAST!!!!!!

Ma fille jouait aux dominos, et je lui ai montré comment faire un trajet de
dominos pour que ceux-ci tombent quand on fait tomber le premier. Et là, elle n'a

Hier et aujourdhui, on a gardé mon neveu Gabriel et mes nièces Audrey-Anne et Éloïse, pendant que leurs parents travaillaient. Éloïse étaient bien contente d'être ici... les autres aussi dailleurs! On a joué full à la pâte à modeler, on a fait des bricolages... Une fois les cousins partis, mes cocos sont allés se baigner, malgré la fraîcheur! Sont fous!!

Yesterday and today, we babysat my nephew Gabriel and my nieces Audrey-Anne and Éloïse, while their parents worked. They were really happy to be here! We played with playdoh a ton, we made crafts... And once they were gone, my kids went in the pool... even though it's freezing out! They're crazy!!!

Puisque la fête de Béatrice est en août, et que c'est trop difficile de faire sa fête alors (les amis sont souvent partis, et nous aussi dailleurs... et de toute façon, le hockey recommence fin août et on est super occupés!!), je fais toujours sa fête d'amis en juin.
Elle voulait un thème Légo. Les invitations étaient donc en forme de légo, on a dessiné des faces de bonhommes de légo sur les assiettes jaunes, et le gâteau était en forme de légo, avec un arc-en-ciel dedans!!! On a fait un bricolage, un arc-en-ciel en collage. :)
Les enfants ont trippé sur le gâteau!!

Since Bea's real birthday is in August, and it's hard to have her friend birthday party then (her friends are often gone, and so are we... and hockey starts in late august so our weekends are full then, and in september as well....), I always have her party in June, it's much easier.
She wanted a Lego theme party. So the invites were big legos. we traced lego men faces on our yellow plates, and the cake was a huge lego... and inside, it was a colourful rainbow!! Our craft was a big rainbow collage... :)
The kids loooooved the cake!!

Téamo grognait en regardant dehors, je suis donc allée voir, et y'avait un joli bébé raton se promener. Quand Téamo s'est mis à japper, le raton a grimpé dans l'arbre du voisin. Il y est resté presque 2 heures!!! Il était appeuré! Disons que c'est rare que les ratons sont peureux comme ça!!

Téamo was growling at something outside... I got up to look and saw a baby raccoon, walking around. Then Téamo barked, and the raccoon ran up the neighbour's tree, scared!! He stayed there almost 2 hours!!! Raccoons are rarely this scared!!

Fait chaud!! J'ai fini le boulot un peu plus tôt (7:15 au lieu de 8:15) donc les enfants avaient encore un bon bout avant de se coucher. xavier a ouvert le sprinkler et s'est amusé à sauter dedans quelques fois... mais c'était frette!!!

It's so hot out!! I finished work early (7:15 instead of 8:15) so the kids still had a bit to play before bedtime. Xav decided to play in the sprinkler... but the water was so cold, that didnt last long!

Cette année, on s'est achetés des passes de saison pour La Ronde!! Les enfants sont tous assez grands pour faire tous les manèges, donc ca vaut la peine (on a payés les passes 50$ en mars!)

Xavier et Béatrice ne sont jamais allés à la Ronde, donc ils capotent!!

On y est allés aujourdhui pour la 1ere fois. Il n'y avait pas beaucoup de monde, et on n'a attendu que pour la Pitoune!! On a pas fait tous les manèges, on fera les autres une prochaine fois. Mais les enfants ont TRIPPÉ sur le Super Manège. Ils l'ont fait plusieurs fois, même sans nous!

Voici la dernière fois qu'ils y sont allés, en soirée. (remarquez l'arc en ciel, cool!) Je n'y suis pas allée ce coup là: on venait de finir le Splash, et j'étais toute mouillée... ca me tentait pas de geler dans les descentes hihi!!

This year, we bought season passes for LaRonde 6flags. The kids are all tall enough now to ride all the rides, so it's worth it. And we just paid 50$ each, in march!!
Xav and Bea have never been, so they're ecstatic!!
Today we went for the first time. There wasn't a lot of people, so we only had to wait for La Pitoune. We didnt do all the rides, we'll have to do them next time.

But the smaller kids LOVED the Super Manège! They did it several times, even without us!

Here's the last time they all went, in the evening (notice the rainbow, too!). I didnt go that time, we had just gotten out of the Splash and I was soaking wet. I didnt want to freeze!
